Oxford Diecast 43LAN188024 - Land Rover Series 1 88" Canvas Bronze Green
O Gauge
1:43 scale 1957 series 1 88 inches Land Rover. Registered PSL 193 and owned by Mark Saville who is on the editorial staff of Land Rover Owner International magazine, the Land Rover is affectionately known as Plimsoll! In real life, Plimsoll has a 1997cc four-cylinder petrol engine, a four speed main gearbox and a two-speed transfer box with four wheel drive. Now for the difference! It has four standard Land Rover wheels which in an hour can be changed to aluminium/magnesium cast wheels capable of running on railway tracks! It has travelled over 45,000 miles at home and abroad, 120-miles of which have been on rails. You may well have seen it on heritage railway days across the UK.
Our Oxford model is decorated in the bronze green of the original with green canvas back, registration plate PSL 193 and features the standard road tyres. The back gives a printed list of the key places and dates it has travelled on tour, starting with a trip to Iceland in 2004 and still going strong! James Bond would love to have an adventure of his own in this unique Land Rover and we can just imagine the scene!
